Ingredients
-100gm / 100gm All Purpose Flour -1pinch / 2gm Salt -2tsp / 10gm Vegetable Oil -0.5tsp / 2.5gm Carom Seeds -0.25tsp / 0.75gm crushed Black Peppercorn -5tbsp / 75gm warm Water
Methods
1. Mix together flour and salt in a bowl. Add in the vegetable oil.
2. Also add carom seeds and crushed black pepper.
3. Now, add water, a little at a time. Simultaneously knead the dough with hands.
4. Continue to knead the dough for at least 5 minutes until soft and springy, then leave aside to rest.
5. After an hour or so, divide the dough into 24 equal sized balls and roll each one with a rolling pin.
6. Using a toothpick and pierce each rolled mathi a few times.
7. Heat oil in a wok and fry the mathis over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
8. Take them out on a tissue paper lined tray so that any excess oil is absorbed.
